About

About the campaign

What if our thinking could change everything?

For more than 130 years, the University of Chicago has built a reputation as a different kind of institution—as a magnet for a special kind of mind.

Where minds fight for the truth

The people who are drawn here to teach and learn share a passion for seeking knowledge and fearlessness in the search for truth. They make unexpected but needed leaps, solve complex problems, and reshape our reality into something better. These scholars have harnessed the power of the atom, identified causes and treatments of disease, illuminated cultures of every place and time, and reshaped entire fields.

The story continues

Today, we continue to build on this legacy through Chicago Minds, an ambitious initiative designed to fortify the rigorous inquiry, commitment to free expression, and fearless exploration of ideas that have long distinguished the University of Chicago.
